Details & fit
An oval head in a warm gold tone, split across the diagonal: one half left plain and polished, the other worked with a scrolling engraved pattern and edged in a fine beaded line. The contrast is what gives it interest, and it is small enough to sit quietly on a tie without drawing the eye away from the cloth.
A tie tac pins through the tie rather than clipping over it, so it holds a narrow blade neatly in place and keeps it from swinging.
