Details & fit
Two handkerchiefs in olive green cotton, each with a sporting motif worked in coloured thread. One carries a cock pheasant striding out in copper, brown and cream, with the blue head and red wattle picked out. The other shows a mallard rising, wings spread, above three stitched ripples of water.
The green is deep enough to sit well with country cloth and tweeds, and the embroidery is placed in one corner so it shows when the handkerchief is folded into a breast pocket, or stays hidden in a trouser pocket for everyday use.
