Details & fit
Two green cotton handkerchiefs, each carrying its own embroidered sporting motif. One takes a gundog sitting alert in the grass, worked in brown, black and cream thread. The other has a cock pheasant mid-stride, with the blue head, red wattle and copper body picked out stitch by stitch. The green ground is plain, so the embroidery does the talking.
They are a generous square of cotton, folded flat in the box as a pair. Used properly, a handkerchief lives in the trouser or jacket pocket and gets washed and ironed like a shirt; the embroidery sits in one corner, so it stays visible when the cloth is folded.
